Type: Contract with potential for long-term

Megan Crosbie Design (MCD) is a full-service residential interior design studio based in Toronto, known for delivering highly tailored, thoughtfully executed homes. We work with discerning clients who value elevated design, clear communication, and an organized, detail-driven process.

We’re seeking an experienced Associate Interior Designer to join our small, collaborative team in a contract role with the potential for a long-term position. This is a hands-on opportunity to support design and project execution across all phases—from early concepts through to site visits, presentations, and final install.

The right candidate will have a sharp eye, strong technical skills, and a deep understanding of the design and construction process. You’ll work directly with the principal designer and project manager, contributing to everything from sourcing and drawing sets to 3D renderings and client presentations.

What You’ll Do

Design + Documentation

  • Source materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and custom pieces

  • Build and maintain sourcing lists and project trackers

  • Draft floor plans, elevations, and millwork drawings in AutoCAD

  • Prepare complete drawing and construction documentation sets

  • Create 3D renderings to support design concepts and client visualization

  • Assemble mood boards and product presentations in Canva

  • Select finishes and compile detailed schedules (paint, grout, tile, etc.)

  • Develop and maintain inspiration boards and digital libraries

  • Draft scopes of work for quoting and contracting

  • Review and mark up shop drawings

Site & Install Support

  • Conduct initial site measures (photos, dimensions, site-specific documentation)

  • Attend site meetings to track construction progress and flag design issues
(e.g., framing, rough-ins, tile layout, millwork installs, pre-load-in reviews)

  • Communicate with contractors to resolve design and build questions

  • Support installation and styling days

Client + Vendor Coordination

  • Correspond with clients regarding design and construction-related updates

  • Attend and present at client meetings

  • Liaise with custom vendors, trades, and suppliers as needed

  • Update and maintain physical and digital materials library

Team & Business Support

  • Maintain CAD standards and drawing templates

  • Assist with prop sourcing and photoshoot coordination

  • Review supplier proposals and quotes when requested

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design

  • 2–4 years of residential design experience (ideally at a boutique firm)

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva

  • Experience producing 3D renderings (SketchUp, Enscape, or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, custom furniture, and millwork

  • Understanding of construction phases and design documentation

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple tasks

  • A valid driver’s license and access to a car (site visits, sourcing, pickups)

What We Offer

  • Direct mentorship from the principal designer and project manager

  • Involvement in high-end, full-service residential projects from start to finish

  • Hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling

  • Competitive hourly compensation

  • Potential for this role to grow into a permanent position
