Associate Interior Designer

Megan Crosbie Design (MCD) is a full-service residential interior design studio based in Toronto, known for delivering highly tailored, thoughtfully executed homes. We work with discerning clients who value elevated design, clear communication, and an organized, detail-driven process.
We’re seeking an experienced Associate Interior Designer to join our small, collaborative team in a contract role with the potential for a long-term position. This is a hands-on opportunity to support design and project execution across all phases—from early concepts through to site visits, presentations, and final install.
The right candidate will have a sharp eye, strong technical skills, and a deep understanding of the design and construction process. You’ll work directly with the principal designer and project manager, contributing to everything from sourcing and drawing sets to 3D renderings and client presentations.
What You’ll Do
Design + Documentation
Source materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and custom pieces
Build and maintain sourcing lists and project trackers
Draft floor plans, elevations, and millwork drawings in AutoCAD
Prepare complete drawing and construction documentation sets
Create 3D renderings to support design concepts and client visualization
Assemble mood boards and product presentations in Canva
Select finishes and compile detailed schedules (paint, grout, tile, etc.)
Develop and maintain inspiration boards and digital libraries
Draft scopes of work for quoting and contracting
Review and mark up shop drawings
Site & Install Support
Conduct initial site measures (photos, dimensions, site-specific documentation)
Attend site meetings to track construction progress and flag design issues
(e.g., framing, rough-ins, tile layout, millwork installs, pre-load-in reviews)Communicate with contractors to resolve design and build questions
Support installation and styling days
Client + Vendor Coordination
Correspond with clients regarding design and construction-related updates
Attend and present at client meetings
Liaise with custom vendors, trades, and suppliers as needed
Update and maintain physical and digital materials library
Team & Business Support
Maintain CAD standards and drawing templates
Assist with prop sourcing and photoshoot coordination
Review supplier proposals and quotes when requested
What We’re Looking For
Degree or diploma in Interior Design
2–4 years of residential design experience (ideally at a boutique firm)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva
Experience producing 3D renderings (SketchUp, Enscape, or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, custom furniture, and millwork
Understanding of construction phases and design documentation
Excellent communication and organization skills
Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple tasks
A valid driver’s license and access to a car (site visits, sourcing, pickups)
